Bridges

Bridges are fixed or removable artificial teeth spanning a space where one or more teeth have been lost in the dental arch. The teeth adjacent to the area of missing teeth will be prepared for crowns in order to support the bridge. This type of restoration can replace the lack or aesthetics and/or function in areas where teeth have been missing previously. The restoration will look just like your natural teeth. Today, dental implants can often replace teeth for about the same price as a bridge, without having to cut on the adjacent teeth

Bonding

Bonding (composites or white fillings) can restores teeth that are, discolored, chipped, cracked, or misaligned. This technique restores teeth to their natural appearance. The Doctor will apply a tooth colored filling onto the tooth, sculpt to its final appearance, and polish to a final shine. This type of restoration has taken the place of amalgam (silver fillings) that have previously been used.

Cleaning

Cleaning is a treatment done by a dentist or dental hygienist. This removes stains, plaque and tartar from teeth. A normal cleaning is done in a healthy mouth (no periodontal disease). A preventative measure for adults and children is recommended by the ADA (American Dental Association) every six months. At that same appointment a thorough and comprehensive oral evaluation will be completed. This examination will include and evaluation of the supporting tissues and structure, oral cancer screening, periodontal evaluation, oral hygiene instruction and orthodontic evaluation. The Doctor will review the findings and offer alternative treatment when necessary.

Crowns

Crowns are made from a variety of materials that strengthen and protect the tooth structure. There are three types of crowns: a full-porcelain crown, a porcelain fused-to-metal crown and the all-metal crown. Doctor will discuss and help you decide which type of crown is suitable for you. Crowns are suggested for the following reasons:
Severe damage from decay
A filled tooth can no longer support the filling
Root Canal - after a root canal, the tooth becomes increasing brittle and can require the protection of a crown
Bridges - when teeth are replaced by a bridge, the adjacent teeth need crowns in order to support the bridge

Dentures-Full & Partia

Dentures are artificial and removable replacements for missing teeth. They are made of acrylic resin. Complete dentures replace all teeth and are custom fitted for each individual, while partial dentures are fitted with clasps to replace a section of missing teeth. With dentures, patients improve their chewing and speech. Dentures also provide support for facial muscles.
For many people, dentures are very difficult to wear, with lower complete dentures are especially challenging. They can be continually loose and feel as if they are moving around in the mouth. To help minimize the problems that can occur with dentures, the doctor may recommend a combination of implants and a denture to allow the denture to literally snap into play. Implants can play a key role in improving a denture patient’s life. |

Fillings

There are two types of fillings: silver and white. After the decay has been removed from a tooth, the dentist will place the filling into the tooth, harden it, and adjust it to your bite. There are a few pros and cons with each type of filling, which will be explained to you at your visit. White fillings have virtually replaced silver fillings because of aesthetic results.

Preventative Dentistry

Preventative Dentistry is a prevention dental health program that is essential to keep teeth clean, healthy and strong. Through regular dental visits, your dentist will clean and examine your teeth, including diagnosis and treatment of early symptoms. Between dental visits, patients must use dental hygiene products and techniques to maintain a healthy mouth. Preventative Dentistry can involve the use of sealants, floss, fluoride, and other take home tools, to minimize the chance of dental decay. We will make recommendations when necessary to include electronic toothbrushes to aid in proper home care.
